This coming Friday, December 2, It would be highly appreciated if you guys can come and give a hand at Greater Good’s pop-up store at Greenbelt 5 Gallery (Beside Adora), Makati City, at 6 PM.
Greater Good is an initiative created by like-minded individuals, lead by Mike Concepcion, with the desire to instigate change. The brand would like to make people aware of pressing issues through quality goods designed and made proudly by Filipinos.
They will be collaborating with Don Jaime Zobel for a collection for Haribon Foundation, an organization committed to nature conservation through community empowerment, and scientific excellence. All the proceeds will be going to them for their projects.
A single shirt you buy is equivalent to three trees certainly to be planted to replenish our country’s rain forest. It’s a win-win situation for all of us!
So make sure to drop by and help mother nature by doing a very simple deed. It’s the time of the year to reach out a hand and help! :)
Just browsing some websites at 3:30 in the morning, like I always do and I happen to stumble on this breath taking constructed Dr. Martens boots out of LEGO! (Leggo lol)
This is just insane! I don’t know how this person did it or how he managed to have all the time in the world to do this but one thing’s for sure, two things for certain..
He’s good hahahaha
Just thought I’d share this with you guys because I just can’t wait for Dr. Martens to open up a store in our country! Of course, as you already know, it’s already confirmed that they will, but the question remains; where will the store be?
They did say that the store will be centrally located and will open just in time for Christmas rush, so I’m assuming this is imminent. Yay!
Follow them on Facebook to get the latest updates!
Have a great week ahead and throw that Monday Blues out of you!! :)

And on a very unrelated topic, I’m very elated to know that the 2011-2012 NBA season will start this Christmas, such a wonderful gift for me as a basketball lover! lol so anyway
And then there were this funny “finger games” they played!
The rule of the game is to use only your index finger to scoop an edible substance I do not know what (lol) inside those small cups and you must feed your group members using only the said finger. You can’t feed yourself! First group to finish the three cups wins! Hahaha
The group of Bianca Valerio wins!
Another game they played was quite simple. Or at least it looks simple; Make Sam YG smile using only one finger. lol
There were three girls who participated but none of them made Sam YG smile hahaha
Mike Smith of Nokia Philippines gave some words before officially presenting their newest phone.
The phone comes in three colors; Black, Cyan, and Pink
I can’t explain how beautiful this phone is!
And there was an electronic raffle (or is it? kidding) to choose three lucky guests that will take home a Nokia N9!
Digging the black Nokia N9. I envy those lucky people last night who got to take home these phones before it even reaches the market! lol at me looking daggers at them while receiving their phones haha
Enjoy your week everyone!!
And just a quick reminder: Always protect your valuables and do not reveal them in public as much as possible, most especially your gadgets
I just felt the need these couple of days to add another mural beside my finished Spider-Man. As you can see, I’m really a big fan of this hero especially the movies! I saw the trailer of the new Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield that’ll be showing sometime in 2012 (watch the trailer here) and I really don’t know what to feel. I like to see the sequel of the previous movie, though it’s good as well to see a brand new Spider-Man with a re-designed costume.
Anyway, enough about this geeky stuff lol moving on..
This is how it’ll turn out if it’s all done.
Doing a Venom mural is imminent now but I’m really having a hard time if I should do it or will I mess the wall up. So I’m asking you guys, again, if I should do it.
Vote on the poll below and tell me your thoughts!
Meanwhile, on a most unrelated topic, I’ll be at Privé later for SMART x Nokia N9 Private Launch. If you’re invited, see you there! Will upload photos tomorrow :)
Yep! You read it right! My Spiderman Mural is finally finished! I know I wrote on my last post that I’ll be able to finish this one by this weekend, but things got a little exciting and worked on it the entire day today!
Check out the finished painting
Of course I need to erase those grid lines first before I can say it’s definitely done and leave it alone but personally, I’m kinda proud of what I’ve done here. I never colored my artworks and never liked it to be honest until I took my COLREND (Color Theory and Rendering) subject this term, it brought my creativity on the colorful side!
And for those who are asking, I used…. tube watercolors here. I KNOW it’s a shame that I used a very temporary, easy-to-ruin paint for this. As long as no one intentionally wet my painting, it’ll stay as long as I can protect it :)
So last Thursday, I decided to make a mural of Spiderman on my bedroom wall. My bedroom in the last couple of days had undergone a lot of decoration due to my discriminating want to beautify it lol
The story behind this Spiderman mural is kinda impromptu. It was 2 in the morning, checking my accounts on different sites (not to mention I have classes later that day), when suddenly, I stared blankly on my wall and thought My wall needs something.. so I Googled “Bedroom wall art” and found lots of murals there. From that moment on, I decided right away that I’ll be making one on my own, and picked Spiderman, of course, my favorite character of all time.
Another thing is… I NEVER TRIED PAINTING BEFORE except if oil pastels and crayons, and those cheap watercolors counts, but no, I don’t have any history of painting on paper, more so on walls. But I was really determined I can do this.
I bought materials that day, finished my class at 7, went to The Amazing Playground soft launch party, and arrived home relatively late to at least start something, but I did.
I’ve been working on this for 3 days and I think I’ll be able to finish it this weekend (hopefully). If the outcome will be great, then I think I’ll be doing another.
I’ve been posting a lot of art related entries recently, am I? lol November got me good and had my creative juices overflowing! Hope I can convert this juices into something very nice :)
Stay tuned for more updates on my wall and let me know what you think :)
I’ve been thinking lately about who do I sketch next, so I thought that asking you guys can again help me decide.
Megan Young who happens to be my friend saw my sketches the other day and asked me to do one of her, and as I typically reply, I said “I’ll see..” lol but coming to think of it, I think it’s not a bad idea to make one for her. What do you think?
Vote on the poll below and help me decide! You can even add your own answer and give me some suggestions of your own! :)
Second term is coming to an end and so far, I come to the point of realizing that my favorite days of the week are Tuesdays and Wednesdays (because I don’t have Monday classes), and after that, nothing much happens anymore.
Wednesday is always a chill day, I mean, literally! Our classroom is so chilly inside, you’ll think you’re a meat inside a frigider (as our Yaya will say, lol) that’s why I never hesitate to wear an extra piece of clothing outside.
It’s better to be a little sweaty outside for a little while, than to have ice cubes building inside your nostrils the whole 3 hours of my class hahahaha
I’m starting to fill my closet with a lot of Oxygen™items unconsciously! I never actually realize that this brand is so me! Black, gray, and white, not to mention how I totally loved their Summer-Spring collection!! (Check out their Summer-Spring collection here)
And I’m also trying to make that bandanna-on-pocket work on my outfits. I never really knew where I got that idea but thinking how could I possibly make a bandanna work, I just have to place it somewhere and it happens to be on my pockets.
Oh! And by the way, me and my blogger friend, Miko Carreonwill possibly be collaborating for something awesome for you guys for this coming Christmas eve! Tired of your display picture on Facebook? Then we might actually can help you with that so stay tuned!! :D
This is a midterm project for my Color Theory and Rendering class. I was assigned to wear a white polo shirt and a white shorts — which I don’t casually wear at all lol. Don’t have much of choice, do I? Hahaha
Lemme know what you think because I need comments. Please be nice huhuhu lol
I’ve been looking for inspiration for the past couple of days to motivate me from doing my school plates better, what’s more better than searching what you need to know than to Google it lol
I stumbled across a small list of how to stay creative and judging from what’s written there, I think there’s a very good chance for it to work
1) Make Lists
Go and make a list of everything that’s in your head. I’m currently making one right now, so is it safe to say I’m creative? lol
2) Carry a notebook everywhere
I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember, I never forget to bring my Moleskineeverywhere (given that I have a bag to put it in, otherwise, I’ll probably leave it hahaha). Doodle something, draw the face of your boring, neutral face professor or just write down your feelings. It’s fun!
There’s nothing more better to stay creative than to sketch your thoughts. Sketching not only helps you say your feelings through a pen and paper but of course, it helps your drawing skill which may help you along the way as well. This photo was a doodle I did on my Moleskine. I’m actually really considering to get this quote tattooed on my right wrist soon. It has been my motto for years now :)
4) Get Away from the Computer!
Though this is sometimes inevitable, THIS IS A VERY IDEAL SUGGESTION for me. Sometimes I find myself staying in the computer until 6 in the morning, not to mention I have a class later that day. I know with all these social networking sites out there to stay connected with our friends, it’s still good to stay away from our computer once in a while and do something actually productive
5) Quit Beating Yourself Up
In other words, don’t try too hard doing something you know you can do later on. Stay motivated but not to the point your making yourself look like a garbage can and being sick at all times. So for the next tip..
6) Take Breaks
Don’t beat the heck out of your self. Go and take a break (have a KitKat lol) once in a while, everybody deserves one.. well that’s if you’re actually doing something worth taking a break, but if you’re a slug and a potato couch, then.. just stay there if you want lol
7) Sing in the Shower
I do this a lot since I’m always home alone because my mom and sister goes to work early in the morning, and my dad later goes to work as well after lunch so I tend to be alone at all times, hence, I’m not worrying about someone hearing my horrible singing voice hahaha
8) Be Open
Don’t try to keep your daily experiences, problems and any of those matters for yourself. They are meant to be shared and to be discussed as a family or as a friend. Remember, keeping bad emotions can actually cause cancer, scientists found out. Go and share it with someone :)
9) Drink Coffee
I was a heavy coffee drinker back when I was still in DLSU because I always have morning classes that time and I’m the type of person who’s definitely not a morning person, I don’t eat breakfast and I don’t talk to anyone until I drink my Nescafe 3 in 1 lol. But honestly, it does keep me creative because of the soothing taste and the feeling of a warm drink skating through your insides is just a wonderful feeling.
10) Get Feedback
You won’t know what others think of you if you don’t actually accept feedbacks. Go and ask them, not directly but.. I don’t know, just let them express how they think about you and if you happen to hear something unpleasant, take that as a challenge and go change it and let them know you’re being open to criticisms.
11) Listen to New Musics
Don’t just sit there and listen to your favorite artist’s songs. Go and explore different genres of music and find yourself a second or third option. You’ll never know how many good musics are out there if you don’t let yourself explore them.
12) Surround Yourself with Creative People
This is as simple as it gets. If you want to stay creative, then be with people who are creative. It’s contagious and it’s simple. Just like Oprah’s quote (which is posted on my side bar) “Only surround yourself with people that will lift you higher”
13) Practice, Practice, Practice
If you want to be better, there’s nothing more you can hear from everyone but one word; practice. Whenever I hear the word practice, I always think of Allen Iverson lol (if you know what I mean)
14) Don’t Give Up
Quitters never win and neither will you if you do. Giving up is the worse thing you can do, it only means you don’t have enough courage and determination to go on, like a quote I learned from Tumblr; It doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop.
15) Allow Yourself To Make Mistakes
That’s why you practice, to see what your mistakes are and correct them. Allow yourself to make mistake, but at the same time, go and try to correct them because if you just keep making mistake, then that will definitely not going to help.
Go and find someone who shares the same creativity and interests with you. Collaborate and find something to come up with and you’ll see the benefits of being open to people! Help each other up.
17) Take Risks
"Try and fail but don’t fail to try"
This is one of the quote I grew up with and so far, it took me to places I didn’t even thought of being there. Go and take risks, and chances because that’s all everyone have. “Would you capture it, or just let it slip?” as Eminem will say lol
18) Take Lots of Rest
Rest is very essential to us, especially when you’re a teenager like me. Get rest and everything you do will be done properly. But don’t over rest, it’s not good and it definitely won’t help you + you’ll probably be late for class hahaha
19) Go Somewhere New
Don’t always play safe. Go and find out what’s out there. I remember, there was a time that I didn’t know what else to do after class, I have enough money with me so I took a bus that I don’t even know where it’ll go! But after a couple of minutes, I decided to come down because I want to go home already haha but thinking of it, I did try to go somewhere new that day.
20) Count Your Blessings
You don’t need to literally count them but the sense of actually realizing them and count them as blessings, you will have a very good living ahead of you. Sometimes we don’t receive our blessings in the package we expected, we often get them in disguise, so better make your senses working.
Turn that speaker up, and dance like having a disease! It helps you stay active and happy all through out the day! ♫ Teach me how to dougie, teach me-teach me how to dougie ♪ lol
22) Don’t Force It
Don’t do something that’s obviously not working for you. Go and find something that does. If you force it, everybody will notice and will probably think you’re being weird. Being weird sometimes isn’t good. And also, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
23) Break The Rules!
If you already know the rules, break it and find out yourself what can happen! I actually don’t recommend this when you’re at school, breaking the rules can literally break your neck if you do hahaha
24) Read a Book
Back then, I wasn’t really the biggest fan of books, I thought of them as boring as a snail. But when I did try, it actually took me to imaginations I never thought of thinking! It also improved my book of vocabularies and proper grammar (I think lol)
I’m currently reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
25) Stop Trying To Be Someone Else’s Perfect
We are all born originals so don’t go and die as a copy. Be yourself and everything else will follow. If it works for you then go, but do not try to live someone else’s life just because.
26) Write Down Your Ideas
That’s why you follow #1 and #2 so that you never forget what came to your mind. We always have that tendency to think of something very beautiful but forgets it along the way. So to avoid that, go and grab your hand dandy notebook and jot them down
27) Clean Your Workspace
It helps! Clean your computer table, your work station, everything! It helps you clear your mind and focus on what you’re doing. Having a messy workplace doesn’t help at all. Clean them or let your Yaya do it for you because you’re a lazy person lol
28) Finish Something
Finish what you’ve started even if you’re actually not liking how it’s turning out. Make that a habit and don’t be a quitter. It helps on the long run
29) HAVE FUN!
Always insert F-U-N in everything you do and you’ll stay creative forever. Love what you’re doing and it will show dramatically in your performance!
Last Sunday, we invited all the kids on our neighborhood inside our compound, right outside our house to have a Trick or Treat’ing of their own! We were kinda expecting a lot but we certainly didn’t thought they’re going to be… A LOT lol
I was dead sick that time and wasn’t able to help my family distribute some goodies but my sister did took some photos of it
